BYU MPH Students Win $10,000 in App Competition

Kate Strickling and Jessica Wilkinson, BYU MPH students, won $10,000 in a competition last week with Samsung.  


The award was for the Games 4 Health competition at the University of Utah. It is a student game design competition that challenges students to design an app/game that promotes health.


They created a game called "Calorie Quest" that aims to increase physical activity in adolescents using virtual reality technology. They won third place in the virtual reality/augmented category and the overall "Super Category Challenge" prize from Samsung.
